Ap Studio Art: DRAWING PORTFOLIO
Concentration:
What is the central idea of your concentration?
My concentration is about self exploration and showing the many different facets of a person’s personality and life experiences that when put together define them as an individual. I used this project as a way of exploring the way people are perceived by themselves and others through portraits. How does the work in your concentration demonstrate the exploration of your idea? For this series I chose show some of the various lenses through which people are seen. In my pieces I chose to focus on an aspect of the subject’s personality using various materials and techniques. For example, in piece #, I painted the kid who sits across the table from me. He draws very lightly and carefully, with each brush or pen stroke purposefully calculated. I fingerprinted his portrait with an abstract and loose style, to contrast his quiet and collected demeanor. In piece # I drew myself and fish with an ink pen. The fish represent my love for the swimming and the ocean and the many lines that add up to form the value represent the many events and people that have shaped me into the person I am. |
